Bearfootin'

in

Hendersonville 2005

Following highly successful exhibits in 2003 and 2004 that saw $45,000 raised for local charities, Bearfootin’ in Hendersonville 2005 kicked off with Hibernation Day, Friday, February 25. The artists and sponsors picked up the newest members of their families and spirited the bare bears off for a few months of embellishment before the official opening on Saturday, April 23.

According to Jim Kastetter, Executive Director of Downtown Hendersonville, Inc., all 31 bears are now sponsored with more eleven of the sponsors coming from the 2004 exhibit and eleven more who sponsored in both 2003 and 2004.

Nikki Dietzel of Main Street’s The Paintin’ Shed joined with her sister Donna Leven and Bernard Edwards to sponsor Bearly Fishin’ (2003) and Bubba Bear (2004), two of the most popular bears in each of the annual exhibits. “It was a terrific experience, Dietzel enthused. “What I treasured most was watching the families enjoying the bears and talking with the families about the exhibit.”
